In “Be It Resolved” I thought I’d kickoff 2019 by talking about goals versus resolutions. I know, you’re thinking I’m going to say “goals good!” and “resolutions bad!”. Actually there is much more to it than that. In today’s episode I’m likely to only scratch the surface of the topic. That’s ok too – that’s why there will be future episodes (I hope…).
As the clock ticked over to start 2019 we are once again on the verge a new period – a new year. I’d like to drag your thoughts back to January 1, 2018 for a moment, if I may. I suspect many of us started last year off with a laundry list of resolutions about things we were going to: a) do more of, or b) do less of. How did that work out for us? How did we do for 2018? Crossed some off our list? Worked on others? Added some new ones? Tossed our list in the recycle bin and set it on fire so it can’t torment you anymore?
We have a brand new year ahead of us – and when we look back at it ten years from now a decade will have passed by, regardless of our decision to set goals and to navigate a path of our own design. I hope that after implementing some of ideas shared here, that when the clock rolls over on December 31st, 2019 – you’ll clink a glass and say “Be it resolved that this is the start of another great year!”
I hope you enjoy it. As always, “thank you” for listening (questions and podcast ideas always welcome!)
