It was over 40 years ago that Paul Simon urged “Stan” to “Make a new plan” in his song “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover”. Did Stan ever make a new plan? I have no idea, but I do know this – when it comes to his personal finances – it’s unlikely that Stan ever had a plan in the first place. I can hear you, “yeah, yeah, yeah…. plan, plan, plan… is it really that important?” I think it is. In this episode we’re going to talk simple basics about a financial plan and included in the message is a recent conversation I had with Rob Carrick of the Globe & Mail regarding financial plans, investment advice and how to differentiate between the two. I hope you enjoy it, and as always, “thank you” for listening (questions and podcast ideas always welcome!)
